Cushions on the boat - How can I sleep better on the boat?

We often receive requests for new cushions for the berths and sleeping areas on boats. Most customers who ask this question are primarily looking for better sleeping comfort. What is rarely considered is that a completely new cushion rarely solves the problem.

New pillows for better sleeping comfort?

No, this is usually not the answer. When you order brand new standard cushions covered with the same color and material as, for example, in the saloon, they are usually quite hard and/or not suitable for sleeping on. It is certainly very nice to get into a boat where all the cushions are made of the same material, but more often than not we experience that customers have a completely different expectation of new cushions than what is reasonable when it comes to comfort in the sleeping areas.

Do you want to sleep better? -Buy a mattress topper

On regular pillows, a mattress topper can make a huge difference. Especially a memory foam mattress topper from Kapell & Annat . Just like at home, it becomes a whole new layer that adapts to the contours of the body. This is also a much cheaper alternative than new cushions. We have templates for some boats, but sometimes we need the customer's help to make a template on the mattress. Luckily, it is extremely easy.

But my cushions are old and look boring!

Then you might want to consider switching to a spring mattress from Flexima combined with a mattress topper. This will be another upgrade in comfort and there are lots of different choices to make when it comes to thickness and options such as integrated mattress topper, fitted sheets in different colors and so on. When the mattress is manufactured, the weight and height of the users are taken into account. Sometimes the thickness is of course limited by the height of the cabin, but it is likely that a good solution can be found. The disadvantage of a spring mattress is that it cannot be covered in the same material as in the salon.
